Boston’s most southern neighborhood is that of Hyde Park. Once situated in the county of Norfolk, Hyde Park became part of Suffolk County in 1912 when it was annexed by the city of Boston.
One of Hyde Parks most notable trait is it’s long history of industrial growth. It is home to the electrical giant “Westinghouse” and Stop and Shop once had it’s headquarters in Hyde Park.
Hyde Park has a very diverse architecture with many styles visible through the neighborhood, as well as a diverse population with Irish, Italian and Polish immigrants having made Hyde Park their home over the years.
One of Hyde Park’s residents of note is actress Maura Tierney who played Abby Lockhart on the hit TV series ER for many years.
