Jamaica Plain Movers
Founded by the Puritans in the 1630′s, Jamaica Plain is an historic neighborhood of Boston, MA. The first school in Jamaica plain was built in 1676 on donated land. Some believe the neighborhood got it’s name from it’s involvement in the Triangle Trade of sugar cane, slaves and rum, while history books believe the name is more probably an English version of “Kuchamakin”, who was a young chief of the Massachusetts Indian tribe.
The 2010 census shows Jamaica Plain has a population of 37,468 people. Of note in the neighborhood of Jamaica Plain it it’s triple-decker homes. This unique architecture first showed up in the late 1800′s and is a defining image in the area. Jamaica Plain is also noted for being one of the greenest areas in Boston and is sometimes referred to as the “Eden of America”.
