Mattapan Movers
Mattapan is one of Boston’s neighborhoods and has been since 1870, although it used to be part of Dorchester. With the inception of streetcars and the railway, Mattapan began to develop both commercially and residentially once transportation made it easier to travel to Boston.
Like some of Boston’s other neighborhoods, Triple-Decker homes are prominent in the community. This type of architecture typically houses three families. Mattapan has a lively commercial district with shops, restaurants and office buildings and a new public library which opened in 2009.
Former Boston Celtics player, Dana Barros lives in Mattapan along with music composer Leonard Bernstein, who is most famous for composing the music score to West Site Story.
