Roxbury Movers
Roxbury is one of 21 Boston neighborhoods, and one of it’s oldest. It was founded in 1630 and became a city in 1846. Roxbury annexed to Boston in January of 1868.
Roxbury’s early settlers in the 17th and 18th centuries were drawn to the area because of it’s lush farmland, abundant timber resources and stone, which was used for building. At that time farming was the main industry of Roxbury.
It is often said that Roxbury is the heart of black culture in Boston, so it is not surprising that a number of famous black musicians hailed from Roxbury. Some of these include R& B singers Donna Summer and Bobby Brown as well as jazz/pop groups New Edition and the G-Clefs.
